There was a need to get together in a well-organized conference dedicated exclusively to KDE. Since Qt was the basis of KDE from the very beginning, it was an important event for us, and I was there.
After five days of the conference, most of the KDE and free software support issues were resolved.
There were many interesting speeches. I will mention only three that caught my attention.
Kannan M. Moudgalya gave a great introduction to the
Spoken Tutorial . This is a project of the Indian government aimed at increasing digital literacy through the exchange of online lessons and educational materials, including voice presentations.
KDE contributor Dinesh Sai explained how to make
a Minesweeper game in Python and Qt in just 30 minutes.
VCreate Logic has provided a great introduction to Qt for beginners.
As usual, a conference of this magnitude would not have been possible without the community, sponsors, venue and the huge voluntary efforts of the organizers. In addition, special thanks for the hospitality, we must bring to the engineering college in Bangalore, for organizing the conference conf.kde.in.
