Aquafairy introduced a commercial fuel cell charger
Many of us are waiting for the appearance of high-quality new chargers that do not need to be connected to a common power supply. Yes, there are solar charges; this is true, but not so many really effective models. It’s not always possible to wait 5-10 hours until the battery of the “solar” charger is charged. Recently, the Japanese company Aquafairy introduced a commercial fuel cell charger, which may contribute to the mass appearance of such devices on the market (ay, the Chinese!). Charging the AF-M3000 has a number of advantages, but there are some drawbacks too, and very significant ones.
So, this charger can replenish the charge of such a device as the iPhone in just half an hour, this takes one of the fuel cells. There are five such cells, but each of the cells is disposable. This is the main drawback at the moment, because the cost of a set of cartridges for the AF-M3000 costs a lot - $ 13 (and not everyone can afford to charge their mobile devices for $ 2.6 per charge cycle, right?). ')
The charger itself is also not cheap - you'll have to pay $ 316 for the right to own such a device. And the high cost of charging itself would be fine, it could have been tolerated if the fuel cells could be refilled themselves. One-time use of cartridges is the problem. Perhaps craftsmen will find a way to change the situation, but so far this is not possible.
So far, everything is similar to the situation with inkjet printers, when sellers are ready to give out the printers themselves (low-end models for sure) for free if the client came for the new cartridges to this company. But if you count how much a year it will take to charge your devices using the AF-M3000, then it becomes clear that it is cheaper to buy a portable diesel generator.
