Cartoon "Top" embodied in reality

The plot of the cartoon “Up” that won the Oscars, Golden Globe and many others shook the imagination of children and adults, but the team of scientists, engineers, two balloon pilots and the National Geographic Channel team decided to make it happen. They made a small house with a base of five by five meters and a height of about five feet which was hung on three hundred balls with a diameter of two and a half meters. The launch was made on a private runway east of Los Angeles. The house, which flew about an hour, reached a height of more than three kilometers.




Experimenters also set a world record for the number of balloons in one bundle. In the fall, the plot will be shown on the National Geographic Channel on How Hard Can it Be?
