Intel and Lenovo announced netbook for schoolchildren

In September last year, Intel offered the younger generation (or rather, the fathers and mothers of this younger generation) netbooks Classmate PC. Now Intel has connected Lenovo to the development of Classmate +, an updated netbook for schoolchildren (probably students, too). In principle, the netbook looks good, the handle for carrying the device is especially convenient at first glance. There remains, of course, the danger that a netbook can be damaged by pressing it in a crowd, or it can be hit on the nearest corner - remember yourself in school how many things were broken and scratched. But if you treat carefully, the device can serve for several years.

The characteristics of the device are quite interesting: Atom N455 processor, 1 GB of RAM, 1.3 MP webcam, WiFi wireless module, capacious battery. Windows 7 is installed on the netbook by default. There is a built-in audio system, and depending on the configuration, the netbook can be equipped with 8 or 16 GB SSD, or a 160 or 250 gigabyte hard disk. Oh yes, the display in the netbook is set to 10.1-inch. The device also includes 3 USB 2.0 ports, a card reader, and an Ethernet connector.

Interestingly, this device cannot be found in stores - it will be distributed through educational organizations and agencies, mainly in the third world countries. Within a couple of weeks, 158,000 such netbooks will be sent to Buenos Aires.

In a press release submitted by manufacturers, says that since the appearance of the brand Classmate PC, it has already sold 3 million such devices. Probably the updated device will also be quite popular. Unfortunately, the price of the device is unknown - apparently, it will be reported directly when devices are distributed throughout the world.

In general, the Classmate PC is a very good device, it would be more or less protected to do it, and it would be quite good. Well, and even so, I myself would not give up possession of the Classmate PC - and who would have refused, because this netbook can be quite convenient when traveling.
