In the epic (by the number of comments) post about the new design Sberbank Online, many suggested improving the design. Following the trail, several offers were born to help Sberbank, and we (Dmitry Satin and Andrey Sikorsky) instituted a design contest for the main page:
Grand Prix iPad 2
Four Extra Prizes - iPod Touch
Attention! We do not buy design rights for iPads and iPads — you still have the rights. We give these devices to those who better hit the target, stimulating the creativity of designers. The rules of the game are very simple ...
You need to register (invited not only designers, but also those who will judge the work submitted) - until March 20
Create your own version of the design, based on the brief
Send the resulting masterpiece to the address sbol@usabilitylab.net - until March 31
April 25 Winners announced, distribution of prizes
Already received a few questions about the organization:
Who will own the copyright of works submitted to the competition? Rights belong to the authors. The contest organizers do not claim the copyright of the contestants. If Sberbank is interested in the proposed work, then it must itself regulate the relationship with the copyright holder.
And where does UsabilityLab and Sberbank? Why are you holding a contest for them? We are not holding a contest for Sberbank, we are holding a contest so that our interfaces have the best design. Although the competition has been agreed with the Bank’s employees, it is held on our initiative and for our budgets. The bank has nothing to do with the competition. But we, of course, will be happy if the best works are not only awarded with our prizes, but go to work - and in this case Sberbank itself (without our mediation) will establish relations with authors of works that he will like.
So, the first thing you have to do (regardless of whether you are the designer or who will evaluate the work) to register in the competition (registration closed on March 20).
UPDATE: For 10 hours from the date of publication of this post, we received 300 applications for participation in the competition. Spring will be hot!
