The catalyst for the emergence of this mechanism was the case of the 42-year-old British woman Simone Back, who settled accounts with life on December 25, 2010. Beck wrote on her Facebook page that she took a lethal dose of pills, but none of the more than a thousand of her friends took this message seriously. If help arrived on time, Beck would have managed to save.
Now it only remains to answer the question - is it not the illusion of intimacy bestowed by the Internet that causes suicide or the mechanism proposed by Facebook really turns out to be a useful tool to prevent them ...
