WebSite Pros has acquired the domain name Web.com and the hosting provider Interland, which owns it, for $ 129 million.
WebSite Pros hopes that the “sonorous” name will attract many clients from the small and medium-sized businesses to the site. The motives of the Interland act are not very clear - last year the hoster received about $ 117 million profit. However, negotiations to sell a domain name, according to rumors, were conducted for a long time, with Yahoo, Microsoft and GoDaddy on the list of potential buyers.
