Another “human twin” from Danish scientists

It seems that the phrase "Danish scientists" on Habré has not yet been published. As a matter of fact, little is known about the activities of scientists from Denmark, although it can be assumed that scientific activity is no less active there than in other countries. The other day, it was the Danes who wiped the Japanese, who are considered leaders in the creation of humanoid robots. Repeatedly, the Japanese represented a variety of moving and talking heads and entire bodies, which are robotic copies of their creators or other people. This time, scientists at Aalborg University in Denmark created a very similar human robot.

This robot is a copy of the leader of the development team, Professor Henrik Scharfe, the teacher of the same Aalborg University. According to the professor, he took the idea from the Japanese scientist Hiroshi Ishiguro, who created his own copy of the robot some time ago. The robot that has turned out at Scarf is much more real than many models of robots created by Danish colleagues. By the way, this robotic miracle “breathes”, is able to smile, look in different directions, blink and even pull at the beard.

As always, there are some shortcomings that do not allow us to consider a robot professor as an ideal model. Yet the movements have not yet reached the human smoothness, and this robot is not enough. By the way, the development was called Geminoid DK.

I wonder how soon the experts will be able to combine the functionality of the same Asimo with external data of such robots here? Probably, this will happen not so soon, despite all the assurances of futurologists. And if you think about it, why do we need robotic copies of ourselves? Is that for purely entertainment purposes - to send the robot instead of himself to the store or to work - an opportunity, described so far only in the NF works.
