Analyze newspapers and magazines with Facebook likes
A few hours ago Yahoo! Labs published my study of the media industry, The Like Log Study . Using the Facebook API, I learned the number of likes for 100,000 articles from 45 popular sites. What was possible to learn:
Which sites have the most likes?
What articles collected the most likes?
How many likes and tweets per 1000 visits?
How quickly do people stop being interested in new content?
What themes collect the largest number of likes?
The title picture is words from CNN headers. Big words - many articles, small - few. Bright red color corresponds to the maximum number of likes, dark blue - the minimum.

Dimensions Facebook likes can be useful for the following tasks:
Creating news ratings on the model of Yandex Blogs
Choosing the most promising topics and forms of content
Improved navigation on large sites, the creation of headings in the style of "best for the month"
Optimize websites to increase traffic from social networks
Full results and a five-minute report on the results can be found on the project website: The Like Log Study .
