In February 2010, StartupPoint began regional expansion with the 1st Point in St. Petersburg. For a year we visited 17 cities of Russia! The situation with startups in the regions will be discussed further.
The business community in the regions is definitely there. And best of all live startups in Siberia!
Most of all, the SP team was pleased with the venture infrastructure of the Siberian cities of Novosibirsk and Tomsk . All conditions for projects are not only created here: start-ups are supported by Russian and foreign companies; local universities prepare specialists who can create popular projects. It is safe to say that "Silicon Valley" is not only in Skolkovo, but also in Siberia.

In Rostov-on-Don, we met the most responsive audience for start-up entrepreneurs. Experts gave advice on the merits, sent projects in the right direction. The meeting was as applied and useful to local projects.
Here we met the youngest entrepreneur, who presented the idea of creating a Russian iPad for educational purposes. It is gratifying that innovative entrepreneurship in Russia is getting younger. Well, for a snack - a photograph of the "Mars Rover" (also from Rostov)
Nizhny Novgorod pleased a large number of investors present at the meeting. Nizhneordsky investors are actively looking for projects at an early stage and are willing to support projects with advice and money. The active struggle between the strategic investor (VolgaTelecom) and private investors for the Cash System project unfolded right at the SP meeting. All remained alive. And the creator of the project is very pleased.
Ekaterinburg is a city where SP notes the full support of projects by the state. The infrastructure for innovative entrepreneurs was created in the form of the Infrahab project with the support of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Sverdlovsk Region (exhaled). Strategic investors such as SKB-Kontur and i-Jet (the creators of the Gay Farmer) are seen in the region. Few regions can boast of such large investors.

Unfortunately, the regions are far behind in the development of mobile projects (applications and programs), as well as social network applications. What are we proud of?
Startuppoint first began to actively collect regional projects. And we will continue this activity this year (in the coming weeks - Izhevsk , Kazan , Perm ).
Behind the border, they are still Ufa, Samara, Tolyatti and Volgograd . We are looking for partners to organize events in these cities.
