New contest for creating HTML5 applications!

A new competition has been launched for web developers who are creating new HTML5 applications today. The competition called Dev: unplugged invites developers to participate in the competition in three categories to create the most interesting games, music applications and innovative applications.

The condition of the contest is simple: participants should use only modern web standards, without the use of browser plug-ins.

The category of innovative applications has several subcategories with different sponsors:

• best use of geolocation - sponsored by Foursquare;
• best use Pinned Sites - sponsored by Microsoft;
• best use of Canvas and SVG - FWA sponsor;
• innovations in design and UX - sponsored by Carsonified.

Winning developers expect great prizes:

• super prize - $ 9,000 and a paid trip to the Future of Web Apps conference Las Vegas ;
• the best gaming application - $ 5000;
• the best music app - $ 5000;
• innovative application - all winners will get tablets ASUS Eee Slate;
• other notable projects will get the Xbox 360.
