The Australian company Tag Systems has developed a unique simulator that takes the driver on his own car to the virtual world. Sensors remove real-time data from the vehicle, so pressing the accelerator and brake pedal, changing gears and turning the steering wheel is fully reflected on the screen.
On his own car, a race lover can ride on real “Formula 1” tracks or on the streets of American cities, participate in racing for survival or in rally over rough terrain, without fear of injury.
This video shows the TS8000 system, the most advanced Tag System simulator. First, the concept and working principles are explained. It is shown how laser sensors remove the steering movement, and how information from these and other sensors goes to the central computer, where data is synchronized with the virtual environment. ')
Such simulators can be used for effective driving instruction, since the trainings take place on the same vehicle that you will ride in the future.
Real video races start at 2:44.
The operation of the system at full capacity is shown in the following video, where drivers compete with each other.
