AT & T is launching a new geolocation service for shopping alerts on the
Placecast platform. The provider presents
ShopAlerts , a service that alerts consumers who are close to the store of a brand participating in the promotion about special offers and discounts. The list includes brands such as HP, KMart and JetBlue.
For subscription subscribers, AT & T ShopAlerts is already available in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco. By the summer it is planned to expand the program throughout the United States and increase the number of partners participating in the action.
The service is supported by a brand-based program for sending text messages from brands to consumers, based on their location. You can choose various ways to receive newsletters - in the store, on the Internet, by sms, on mobile websites or on Facebook.

As soon as the technology is activated, consumers begin to receive notifications that they are close to their place of interest, as well as discounts and special promotions. The ShopAlerts technology uses the geo-fence feature, which allows you to set virtual boundaries within which the buyer will receive information from retailers. The latter, in turn, can customize the service in accordance with the strategic objectives of the business.
For Placecast this is not the first big deal. Not so long ago, the company entered into a similar agreement with the European provider of mobile services O2. Participants in the ShopAlerts affiliate program are a number of retail chains, such as, for example, American Eagle Outfitters and North Face.
