To a conference on MeeGo
At the recent World Mobile Congress , the MeeGo operating system and devices based on it were a hot topic and aroused considerable interest among conference attendees and specialists. Now those who have not been to the MWC have a chance to get to know MeeGo better: the Fruct community, with the participation of Intel and Nokia, represent MeeGo 1 / Ru , the first Russian conference of MeeGo.
The MeeGo 1 / Ru conference will be held from 9 to 11 March 2011 at the Moscow Academy of National Economy. A detailed conference program has already been published: in the first two days of the conference, trainings will be held for beginners and professionals, and on the last day the conference will open its doors to the general public. Both participation in trainings and attendance at the conference are absolutely free, but the number of places is limited. A little more than 100 seats are left for the conference itself and you can register yourself. With free places for trainings, it is a little more difficult - only 12 places are left on the first day, and no more than 30 places on the second - only those who comment on the reasons for their violent desire to attend trainings will be taken on board)

Here is how Vadim Sukhomlinov , the main person on MeeGo in Intel’s Russian office, comments on the upcoming MeeGo 1 / Ru:
“A lot of words have already been said about MeeGo, but not so many practical things - for example, how to develop applications for MeeGo and what is required for this? There is no common picture for many. This conference is designed to show how the development of applications for MeeGo is actually going on, how to publish these applications to the Intel AppUp store, and so on - we want to fully expand the topic.
In addition, we want to show a tablet based on MeeGo 1.2 pre-alpha with a tablet interface - this is the device that we showed at the MWC in Barcelona, but which many people want to see live in our country. On MeeGo 1 / Ru, we will have the device itself and a demo based on it.
The MeeGo ecosystem is actively growing - for example, most recently people from Mandriva came to us. They are actively developing the MeeGo build for netbooks and see a lot of potential in developing a version for tablets. When such serious companies start doing this, it means that the project’s prospects are the most optimistic. ”
