Why netbook quality "tweeters"? At first glance, with such a device bribes are generally smooth. Reproduces films, speech is audible. Any laptop maker usually sighs with relief when it comes to the built-in speakers - hence no need to take care of quality. Want to retreat to your favorite movie? Put on your headphones. Are you having a party? Connect the speakers. Like atrophied limbs, the dynamics in portable computers have always been, but it is unclear why.

At the same time, the main area of use of netbooks is closely related to the reproduction of audio information - without sound, we don’t think of either Youtube or Skype, and indeed any entertainment application.
Asking the question about the nature of this contradiction, Toshiba's experts conducted an online study, asking the question: “If you have a netbook, or are you planning to buy it, in what cases would you use (use) a netbook without headphones?”.
')
Toshiba's online survey was conducted in the UK, France, Italy since September 2010. The results looked like this:

As can be seen from the survey results - the vast majority of users (69.7%) use netbooks as a means to listen to music at home — and without additional audio accessories (speakers or headphones). In addition, as many as 40% of respondents are actively using a netbook, entertaining guests at home. Not perceived netbook without headphones or speakers only 3.8%, that is, an absolute minority. In total, it turned out that the dynamics in netbooks actually matter more than it seemed at first glance, and are even perceived as an independent means of reproducing sound.
In order to be completely convinced of the arguments, the researchers in a separate question suggested that users directly evaluate how important the sound quality of the built-in speakers of the netbook is for them.
The following results were obtained:

Here we see that almost 40% of netbook lovers believe that the sound quality in the built-in speakers is a very important factor.
So, the quality of the built-in sound in netbooks is really necessary for consumers.
Then why not make them happy?
Of course, even the most advanced “tweeters” cannot replace the heaped audio system, if only because of their size and a number of other technical limitations associated with being inside the netbook. So, arranging a noisy party, in any case, you will have to use a separate sound system. In most other situations, the users themselves admitted that they would not run around the columns once again.
So, a small online study became an inspiration for creating a Toshiba Mini netbook with a harman / kardon audio system with Dolby Advanced Audio support. We wrote about this product earlier,
