Desire HD, Desire Z, Desire and Incredible S will get Gingerbread in the second quarter

HTC has confirmed that some of the most popular devices of the past few months will be upgraded to Android Gingerbread. A HTC spokesperson told SlashGear that Desire HD, Desire Z, Desire and Incredible S will get Gingerbread in the second quarter.

Incredible S was introduced at Mobile World Congress a couple of weeks ago and was the only HTC device on display with Froyo, and not with Gingerbread.

Desire HD and Desire Z were released in September 2010 and will also be upgraded from Froyo to Gingerbread. The same applies to Desire, presented at last year’s MWC. This smartphone is almost the same as the Nexus One, so it was clear that it was possible to run Gingerbread on it, but still it’s quite unusual to see a device that survives two releases of Android.

All of these Desire will be updated simultaneously with the Incredible S, while the recently introduced Desire S and Wildfire S will be released with the already installed Gingerbread.
