On Thursday, the first ever
marathon of two-legged robots started in Osaka, Japan. The race involved five iron athletes ranging in size from 30 to 44 cm. They must overcome the traditional distance of 42,195 meters (422 circles under the roof). The service personnel has the right to change batteries and motors, but if the robot loses its balance, it must stand up independently.
According to preliminary estimates, the humanoid will take about four days to complete the distance, that is, the finish is not expected until Sunday. This competition is more about reliability than speed. Live view goes

The race was organized by
Vstone , a manufacturer of robots from Osaka. They hope that in the future the marathon will become international and attract hundreds of participants. For example, in 1997 in the Japanese Nagoya, the first world robot soccer championship was held, and since then the competition has become traditional. In 2010, another 500 teams from 40 countries came to the next such championship in Singapore.
