Yahoo will close the service MyBlogLog

According to Mashable, the MyBlogLog service, which allows bloggers to see who their readers are, will be closed on May 24th. Service users were notified of this by email.

This step was expected because MyBlogLog was mentioned in the infamous Yahoo presentation in December, which included a slide on services that are scheduled to be closed.

Yahoo bought MyBlogLog in early 2007 for $ 10 million. The service provided bloggers with the ability to easily create communities for their readers.

By the time Yahoo acquired the service, 45,000 blogs had used the service, but have since been replaced by functionally similar Twitter and Facebook widgets, which allow almost the same thing, but employ much larger social networks.

Delicious social bookmarking service can be the next victim of Yahoo cuts. The service was also named in the above-mentioned slide, although Yahoo later clarified that it was not going to close the site, but was looking for a buyer for it.
