Any Chrome apps can run in the background.

Google officially introduced the remarkable feature Background Apps , which allows you to run any applications in the background, so that they will continue to work, even if you close all browser windows.



Previously, only extensions using Background Pages had such functionality, and now you can run any application from the Google Web Store catalog in the background.

Developers can use this feature to preload information to a user's computer so that information is displayed instantly after the application “starts”.
