Google Inc. yesterday announced the release of the first beta version of its browser Chrome 10. As always, the new version of the browser has undergone changes and improvements - this time the Javascript engine has been optimized. The beta has already been tested by specialists from the Computerworld publication, who obtained an interesting result: the first beta of Chrome 10 is 64% faster in processing scripts. Of course, all these results should be treated with a certain degree of caution - because if you add up all these percentages of accelerations, obtained from studies of previous versions of the browser, it turns out that Chrome should already instantly perform all sorts of operations. True, testing Chrome 10 using WebKit Sun Spider did not show any significant improvements.
Rather, the improvement in speed compared to Chrome 9, that is, 0.1%, but this is a vanishingly small value that is unlikely to be noticeable to the average user. It is worth recalling that Google Chrome and Apple Safari are based on WebKit, this open source project is very popular among browser developers.

By the way, in the new beta there is a long-announced Google technology Crankshaft, expanding the possibilities of V8 JavaScript. The corporation first announced Crankshaft last December.
In addition, you can not get past such improvements as the new hardware video acceleration platform, built-in password synchronization system, automatic shutdown of outdated plug-ins and some other “goodies”. Browser developers claim that the new video hardware acceleration platform takes advantage of graphics chip capabilities, which now take on some of the computation load.
By the way, Chrome 10 automatically synchronizes bookmarks, applications, settings, extensions and passwords - so users using Chrome on different PCs should be happy.
