March 2 at 19:30 in St. Petersburg an
OpenUrban seminar will be held, during which a number of questions will be raised related to the development of the current direction -
urban informatics , which we will try to answer with you.

Seminar program:
- City informatics in terms of architecture and design (M. Klimovsky “Free Space”);
- City informatics - the opinion of a sociologist (O. Pachenkov, D. Vorobev TsNI);
- Speech by representatives of IT-companies that make decisions in this area;
- Discussion with experts from different areas;
We invite everyone to come to the seminar (be sure to register by the
link ), and under the cat we’ll dwell more on the topics discussed.
Such topics as public space and city ontology, interaction of designers, sociologists and programmers in the impact on the urban environment, the influence of space on a person and a person on the space, the influence and role of information technologies in the development of a modern city will be considered.

Some topics that will be covered by speakers:
- Neogeography and non-geographers. 3-D virtual environments for urban design and planning;
- The value of urban informatics for residential architecture and design of the city and public spaces;
- Creating a large-scale view of the street as generated user content;
- Urban informatics and social ontology;
- Production spaces and spaces through joint planning;
- Intervention in public spaces.
Some questions for discussion:
- How can real-time data impact and change the way people use their city?
- How can urban planning, architecture and design exploit the potential of real-time data platforms in our environment?
- What technologies and which structure will help solve the problem of sharing, processing, and storing real-time data in the city, so that the system is convenient for both experts and “ordinary citizens”?
- How to create a supportive environment around real-time data sharing platforms that will provide benefits for both those who provide the data and the data consumers.
- How to ensure the growth of the user community in the long term?
