Sony threatens to disable PlayStation Network gamers forever for breaking into PS3

Yes, Sony representatives officially announced yesterday that they would disconnect PlayStation Network from the attempt to bypass the PS3 protection algorithms and launch unauthorized software on this console. I remember that Microsoft somehow turned off several hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of gamers-owners of the hacked Xbox 360 at the same time. Now Sony follows in the footsteps of colleagues.

Generally speaking, Sony reacts very hard to everything related to PS3 hacking and installing third-party software on these consoles. Apparently, the leadership really believed in the impossibility of breaking into the console protection system, and the fact of breaking hacked the corporation somewhat shockingly. Well, the comrades still deal with GeoHot law enforcement agencies along with representatives of Sony itself, while all the rest rushed into the console breached in defense.

Sony Corporation doesn’t like it all at all, it seems that there are no legal steps to prevent the console from being hacked by individual users, and now management has announced that it’s “hacked - we’ll disconnect you from PlayStation Network”. In addition, it is reported that "in order to avoid blocking access to the PlayStation Network, buyers must immediately stop using and remove all devices from the console to break into the PS3 protection system, erasing all unauthorized or pirated software from their consoles."

It is worth noting that previously the US court has already recognized the jailbreak of iPhones as completely legal, and it is possible that this is why Sony does not go to court with a request to prohibit hacking PS3. Most likely, with such treatment, the court will be on the side of users.

In general, the situation is developing in a rather interesting way, so it’s worth following the steps of a corporation that is striving to protect its offspring against bad hackers by all means.
