There will be a second wiki in Russian

Essay on a given topic

The language committee of the Wikimedia Foundation has been approved by the Wikita in the Yakut language. This project was approved the second after the Russian wikiteka among the Russian ones, and accordingly the Sakha language is the first among the minority languages of Russia that has the Wikisource.

Strictly speaking, wikitecs exist in many languages, for example, in Tatar, but they are in a test stage in the English namespace wikisource.org. Sakha Wikisource was also there for about three years before all the requirements of the language were fulfilled. Now the project will acquire a separate domain and will have full Sakha-language content and interface.

If we talk about the significance of the project, then first of all, I recall, of course, the consideration of attempts to overcome the so-called digital inequality. This term means unequal access to digital technologies among representatives of different ethnic groups and territories, which causes low competitiveness of certain groups of people. In this regard, UNESCO and other humanitarian organizations are pursuing a policy of expanding the representation of different languages of the world (of which there are more than 6,000) in cyberspace. From the point of view of UNESCO, this reduces the amount of tension in society and helps to solve social problems.

The second project in the Sakha language essentially complements the first one - Wikipedia - if the latter explains phenomena, describes events, tells people about it in a dry language of facts, then Wikisource is a collection of different original texts in the language, ranging from folklore works to texts of laws or scientific articles . Therefore, the meaning of the Wikiteca from the point of view of a native speaker is also in the fact that there is another available library of texts in their native language. Moreover, this library works round the clock and all year round, without demanding in return either banknotes or obligatory active participation. The guarantee of permanent reliable work, the guarantee of the absence of any temporary restrictions on the storage of texts are free licenses, international legislation and the human community itself represented by volunteers and donors of the Wikimedia Foundation .

Briefly about the Sakha people , who in Russia and the post-Soviet space are more known under the name Yakuts. This is a Turkic people living in the basin of one of the greatest rivers of the world of the Lena in northeast Asia. The Sakha language, along with Chuvash for a long time - more than two thousand years ago - broke away from the main branch, and therefore is far from other Turkic languages, such as Turkish and Kazakh.
Influenced by the empire of Genghis Khan (according to one of the versions, heating the heart of each Yakut, the ruler’s mother was Uriankhayk, and in the popular mind uranhay is the same as Yakut) the language absorbed a significant amount of Mongolism, and close proximity to the Paleo-Asiatic led to the further expansion of vocabulary .
The Sakha people is a unique community that has managed to develop a productive farm in permafrost soils, a long and harsh winter - the ancestors of the Yakuts were not only hunters, fishermen and gatherers, but also long since bred special breeds of cattle with incredibly tasty, nutritious meat and very fat milk, and also breeds of shaggy horses, easily transferring fifty degrees Celsius and thirty-five degrees Summer heat. But Sakha was not limited to one survival, they managed to preserve the sacred knowledge of their ancestors, and an epic called Olonkho, of which there are countless options and plots, is not only a colorful work of art, but also a philosophical treatise filled with deep meaning. The Epos Olonkho is officially recognized by UNESCO as a masterpiece of the world cultural heritage of mankind.

Hopefully, the Wikita in the Sakha language will help preserve another unique language on the planet. And the language, in turn, will allow the youth of the people not to get lost in the seething globalizing human ocean.
