Today, the Twitter team
launched the
Translation Center system , which allows you to organize crowdsourcing translation of the interface into other languages.
Twitter is currently available in English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Spanish. These languages are available at the Translation Center, so their speakers can continue to update interface translations in these languages.
')
In addition to the languages already available, languages such as Indonesian, Turkish and, finally, Russian have been added to the Translation Center. These three languages are preparing for release in the first place.
The new Translation Center allows any Twitter user to register, select a language and immediately start translating. Translators can localize twitter.com, mobile.twitter.com, Twitter for iPhone and iPad, Twitter for Android, Twitter help and Twitter business center.
UPD. Pay attention to the instructions for translators in Russian:
translate.twttr.com/help/locale/en .
UPD 2. For any questions, contact Rusane Novikova (@
rusashka ) - the Russian-speaking employee of Twitter. I wanted to invite her to Habr, but alas, she is now very busy because of the translation.
By the way, a quote from the correspondence regarding "readers" and "read":
This decision is not final. These are words that were taken as a basis, because you had to choose one option. It all depends on how many votes each translation option will receive. Most popular versions will be approved.
Of course, provided that they comply with the norms of the Russian language. If the option is illiterate, in terms of spelling, syntax or vocabulary, it will not be possible to approve it, despite the popularity.
I think that the option "follower" / "folovit" with a probability of 99% will not be approved. He is familiar to those who have been here for a long time, and the new word will be much clearer to the new users.
