British Swiss scientists are developing a virtual space for robots, which will be a database updated by the robots themselves. According to the plan, the robots will learn how to learn from each other, receiving new information. Remember the story of Robert Sheckley "Guardian Bird"? Here is something similar to the information infrastructure of these "birds" and the developers are going to create.
I don’t know if they read “The Guardian Bird”, and what it all ended with, but the developers of the RoboEarth project are confident of success. True, they also see some difficulties - in fact, almost all robots differ from each other not only in appearance and functionality, but also in how they perceive the world around them, as they receive information from the outside. Scientists hope that it is worth trying to involve in the project those robots whose functions and perception of the surrounding space at least overlap.

Markus Weibel, the name of the initiator of the project, believes that the exchange of information between robots can be a very interesting project. As mentioned above, the developers consider RoboEarth to be something like Wikipedia, solely for robots.
By the way, scientists believe that one of the potential results of the RoboEarth project is the standardization of robotics, which will really allow robots to receive and transmit different kinds of information to each other. By the way, about 35 researchers are involved in the project, the team is currently developing a theoretical framework, and hopes to show practical results within four years.
It is a pity, of course, that there is not much specific information about the project, more and more descriptive information, but as we work on RoboEarth, researchers will upload more and more interesting technical details to the project site.
