The Dutch have created the largest touchscreen display in the world.
Looking at this photo, I personally immediately have associations, if not with science fiction films, then with movies about spies, all sorts of top-secret centers and so on. But in fact, this touchpad does not belong to the CIA, the FBI, or any other intelligence agency of the United States or another country. The largest touch panel in the world was created by developers from the University of Groningen, this is in Holland. All this is used not to catch criminals, but to observe the work of guest workers in the hemp fields of teaching students in mathematics and computer science.
The viewing angle of the system is 135 degrees, with a length of 10 meters and a height of almost three meters. Of course, this is not a LCD and not a plasma, the whole system consists of a transparent display, 6 Optitrack cameras, 1000 infrared LEDs and other equipment. The panel's characteristics are impressive: the resolution is 4900 * 1700 pixels, the response time is 50 ms and the refresh rate is 120 Hz. ')
Unfortunately, it is not known yet how much was spent on the creation of such a smart system, but it can be assumed that such a panel is very expensive. It all looks like someone took the Microsoft Surface, and increased the size of this device beyond recognition. By the way, as mentioned above, the panel is sensory, the surface is capable of processing up to 100 touches at the same time (yes, it is as if 10 people would rush to paint something on the surface of the panel with ten fingers at once).
The developers did not find such a number of volunteers for testing, and they don’t really need it, but a couple of videos perfectly demonstrate the work of the entire system. Looking at this sensory miracle, one can only envy university students who are taught the exact sciences using such a system. Of course, in the domestic universities and the usual touch-screen display - a rarity (of course, not all, but overwhelmingly).
