Amazon has revealed the details of the upcoming software update of the latest generation of the Kindle and Kindle 3G.

The most interesting feature of the new version 3.1: these are real page numbers.

Usually in electronic books, page numbers that do not correspond to pages in paper books are shown. Amazon wants to show real page numbers that correspond to paper versions of books.

Real page numbers have been added to tens of thousands of Kindle-books, including the top 100 bestsellers in the Kindle Store.

Now users can easily link to specific pages or read paper and Kindle books in parallel.

In the new version also appear:

• the function of public notes, allowing you to make available your notes about books and view the notes of the people on whom you subscribe;
• New layout for magazines and newspapers;
• the function, after you have read the book, offers to evaluate the book, write a review to your social network, personalized recommendations about what else to read, and books by the same author.
