In principle, investments are not so big for a multi-billion corporation - only 40 million. But these investments can have a big impact on the development of a mobile gaming platform. According to the HTC leadership, Onlive technologies will help the company to work more and better on various mobile phone applications. Of course, Onlive is more a gaming platform, but the company's technologies are also applicable for creating other types of mobile applications.

In addition to Onlive, HTC has invested in another company, Saffron Digital - this company works with media content, mainly with mobile video. In principle, in this case the expression “invested funds” is equal to the expression “bought”. According to the contract, all assets are transferred to HTC Saffron Digital in the near future.

Experts believe that new investments and purchases will allow HTC to enter the market of mobile applications and compete with players like Apple. With the help of new technologies, HTC management hopes to enrich the range of applications for its own production communicators and for other companies, including Sony Ericsson, Nokia, Samsung and others.
