What are attached sites?

Using IE9, the user can pin your website in the start menu, on the taskbar, or just a shortcut in the system. In all three cases, your website or web application is available by clicking on the icon.

To save as a link (for example, on the desktop) or attach in the start menu and on the taskbar, simply drag the icon (favicon) from the address bar to the right place. But most importantly, if your website supports the functionality of the attached sites in a special way, the user will have new features :

In the drop-down list of the application (your site) attached to the taskbar or the start menu you can add your links to sections of the resource, news, user actions.
