Web club is more alive than dead

The first and last stronghold of offline web developer meetings with the living people of Peter the Web-business club took place once again last Monday. The organizers stated the pretentious theme “A successful site is a successful business”, pretending, apparently, that they know what a “successful” site is.

I was there, and I was pleased:
• The club gradually ceases to be a platform for developers pushed on its theme. Representatives of the web-business are learning to speak in human language, though not everyone is able to do it yet. The club becomes a place for non-professionals to communicate in the Internet business, but professionals in their own, offline and IT people who, fashionably speaking, are becoming increasingly customer-oriented.
• Useful cases. For example, I learned that attracting a buyer to a site without optimization is not such an impossible thing. In addition, they planted a couple of interesting ideas for online brand promotion campaigns. And they showed by good examples that my tongue is my enemy.
• Well, and beer, of course.

The following upset me:
• Presentations were displayed on plasma monitors, the text was too small;
• Some reports were tightened, the last speaker so tired out;
• The audience behaved passively, the impression that everyone was just about to drink beer.

Will I go to the next? More likely than not. Who needs reports, you can watch here.
