Debian GNU / Linux 6.0 released

Despite the fact that there are still no official announcements about the release of the 6th version of the Debian “Squeeze” distribution, tweeters have already reported the transfer of stable from lenny to squeeze and image creation actions:
Debian's CD team is also warming up: As 09:57 UTC we now have the CD generation scripts.

A quote from release notes: “The new Debian release again contains many more programs than its predecessor, lenny. The distribution includes more than 10352 new packages, totaling more than 29050. Most of the programs included in the distribution have been updated: more than 15436 packages (which is 67% of the lenny distribution). Also, for various reasons, many packages (over 4238, 18% of the lenny distribution) were removed from the distribution. These packages will not be updated, they will be marked “obsolete” in the package management programs. ”
