Destroy an old 8/16 bit microcontroller and get NXP LPCXpresso for free

Stumbled today on interesting news. NXP offers to share a video (or photo) of the process of physically destroying any 8 or 16-bit microcontroller, in exchange for which they promise to send their debug board based on the Cortex-M0 controller LPC1114 - LPCXpresso for free .

The shawl is a bundle of JTAG / SWD debugging interface with USB interface and target processor LPC1114.

There is no information on delivery to Russia yet, but I managed to register and send the photo successfully.

Actually, here is the link to the registration page .

In the same place you can watch a video selection where people are smashing their microcontrollers with a hammer.

In addition to the main functionality, of interest is that part of the scarf, which implements the JTAG interface. And it is based on the LPC3154 processor (as many as ARM9!).

Judging by the scheme, JTAG is displayed on the board, and this means the possibility of changing the firmware.
