When my comment about censorship in Kazakhstan at the beginning was actively minus, it became clear that there were a lot of our representatives of telecoms and providers at Habré, or the habrovans did not know all the nuances and realities of our such small KazNet.

The most optimal and popular unlimited Megaline tariff currently offers 1 Mbit / s for 4260 tenge ($ 29). And the limit here is 15 GB of downloaded data from external networks. The second most popular tariff: floating speed from 1 Mbit / s to 8 Mbit / s with a limit of 20 GB of downloaded data ($ 40). After the limit is exceeded, the speed drops to almost dialup 128 Kbps until the end of the month. And they explain this by taking care of KazNet, they say so that internal resources develop. But we know that this is all only for our own profit .
Tariffs from AlmaTV are affordable for the majority of the population - “Golden Arrow” - 0.5 Mbit / s for 4,550 tenge ($ 31), oryou will be shoved down by you to buy the modem installed from you for 5950 tenge ($ 40) and get up to 1.5 Mbit / s for external and up to 2.5 Mbit / s inside for 4,200 tenge ($ 29) per month. But almost honest unlimited. And the catch here lies in the fact that P2P traffic is filtered - the information from the tracker is not intrusively cut off. If DHT saves in the case of a boot, then when you distribute the picture is much worse, and as a result - the rating is lower than the baseboard.
In order to somehow sweeten the pill, almost all providers offer to use their torrent trackers. True, just in case, they do not claim that it is their tracker, and they are not trying to register them in the kz zone. I think it’s not necessary to explain how such trackers are worse than those in Runet.
For quite a long time I was a MegaLine subscriber, and I can briefly tell you what fell to my lot. First of all: they are ripping off money for the connection, and almost automatically withdraw money for carrying out installation work on the client side . Secondly: quite frequent dis-connections, although it depends on the area of the city. Thirdly: the decline in speed in the evening, although it also depends on the area of the city, but the fact remains that they are not hastily upgrading the equipment. Fourthly: technical support not available on the phone - many probably already learned their waiting melody. Of course, they are struggling with these shortcomings, but somehow not hastily, and at every opportunity, they will loudly announce their next victory over this or that problem.
The worst thing is that Google’s servers in the Asia-Pacific region are located right there. It is not surprising that from time to time they are not available. Even worse, access to some servers (and services) from Google is closed, it also opens silently.

While once, on January 26 of this year, I could not get on Habr. The first thought was - Habr on repair - coincided in time. The next day is the same. On the third day, going from a work computer to Habr, I did not find any mention of the fact that Habr has some problems. Here a vague suspicion crept in. When I got home I checked the links from my favorites and found some more not accessible sites. Tracing has shown - a problem with AlmaTV. Week of debriefing - Habr and a couple more sites open. For the rest - the same picture - no access. Technical support claims - the problem is with their partner SmartNet.kz, negotiations on the solution are underway. I just have to use the proxies and wait for them to configure their filtering rules there.
Here is such an Internet in Kazakhstan. So, in my opinion, Kazakhstan can be painted not only in red, but in black. Of course, by publishing this post I’m taking a lot of risks, and not only the karma on Habré, but just already become painful.
