As you know, this year Google is going to set a record, having increased the staff by more than 6,000 people (from the current 24,400). Although the year is not over yet, the company has already set one record. Over the past week,
75,000 job applications have arrived at Google’s human resources departments. Such an influx of applicants had never happened before.
The previous record was set in May 2007 (64,000 questionnaires). Thus, two conclusions can be drawn. First, work at Google again became popular among developers. According
to the Fortune rating , Google now ranks fourth among US companies in terms of demand from applicants (in 2007 and 2008 it was in first place).
Secondly, the company's PR machine works very well. On the "largest set" in the history trumpeted right and left, so there is nothing surprising in the record number of incoming questionnaires.
