A formatted number in the iPhone is not a top 10 chip, but it is not rarely mentioned on the Russian-language Internet.

I myself am the owner of the HTC S620 (Windows Mobile 5).
And the view of numbers ala 89031114444, +79267891234 is rather unnerving.

After the demonstration of the iPhone, there were thoughts like: Oh, these guys from Microsoft already, they really should learn from Apple. Though mobile Windu would teach phone numbers to format.

And yesterday, randomly, I typed 12345 in the emulator of the Windows Mobile 5 Smartphone edition ...
I was stunned :) the screen was 1 (234) 555-7777. ROOM IS FORMATTED!
I started to dial Russian numbers, but as you can see from the picture on the left, there is no formatting.
He rushed to his HTC - the same thing - does not format. Neither Russian nor American.

Here it seems to me the fault of HTC-Schnick. Than Microsoft.

Maybe your Nokia, SonyEricsson, Siemens, Samsung, LG ... also know how to make life a little more convenient (usability), but not adapted for Russian "latitudes" :)
