CarWoo car purchase service announced the launch of a new version

The CarWoo project, a native of the YCombinator start-up incubator , announced the launch of a second version of the service in which dealers compete with each other for a buyer. The platform is a reverse auction system for cars. Users expose their requirements for their future car, and car dealers offer options that cover to some extent the wishes of the buyer. CarWoo, like in the real market, allows the buyer to save (on average, $ 3,763 from the price at the price), forcing sellers to compete with each other.

“There are thousands of different things that you have to think about when shopping. And our task is to make this process from start to finish as easy as possible, ”says startup co-founder Tommy McClang. In the traditional process of buying a car, you would have to deal with a lot of dealers, doing what CarWoo does for you.

New features of the second version of the site include: the ability to see offers from dealers offering leasing, separately from those who only sell cars; the opportunity to name your price in response to the dealer's offer; and provide even more functionality than you can get from the seller-buyer relationship in real life. Buyers can now negotiate with dealers offering different brands (for example, in the case of a choice between BMW and Audi).

Along with the selling price, CarWoo customers can now get information about the full value of the car. And it includes taxes, the cost of a license and registration, which together can amount to several thousand dollars above the price they are offered to pay. Another feature of CarWoo 2 is the dealer reputation system and the e-bay-style rating system, through which buyers can share with each other the experience of communicating with sellers and warn future buyers against transactions with “dubious” dealers. Tommy McClang said that in fact more than 50% of the time, buyers choose not the lowest-price offer, but pay attention to the dealer's reputation.

CarWoo also announced two new partners: the Driverside autoguide and the Nadaguides car buyer guide , which provide additional information about the cars being sold to buyers. Currently, a startup is working with more than 5,000 car dealers throughout the United States.

The project has $ 6 million of funds raised from Y Combinator, Interwest and famous “angels”, such as Paul Buchheit, Joshua Shakhtar and Aidin Senkut.
As a gift for the launch of the second version of the site, CarWoo makes the standard tariff plan for $ 19 free during February (under the terms of which it is guaranteed that 2-3 dealers will bid for your coveted purchase).
