A report on the taxation of virtual business will be published in August

For several months now, the inhabitants of virtual worlds, with bated breath, have been waiting for the US Congress to publish a special report on the taxation of virtual worlds , that is, on the issue of levying income tax on real profits from business in the virtual world. Since now the virtual worlds are growing at a very rapid pace (about 10-15% per month), then economic investment in virtual real estate, banks and production brings super-profits. Not surprisingly, the tax authorities have paid attention to the shadow economy.

Recently it became known that this issue will be submitted to the parliament in the very near future. A special commission has already prepared a report for the US Congress and it will be published in August 2007. It is not known what conclusions it contains, but many experts are of the opinion that taxation of virtual economies is only a matter of time.
