Successful IT companies are near universities.

Economists from business schools at universities in New York and Maryland conducted a study to determine the most profitable place to create a new company, more precisely, to host the head office. They studied the experience of 620 US firms established in 1985-1994.

The study showed that less capable firms try to be located close to competitors in order to entice employees, to study the experience of a competitor and his business ideas. At the same time, technologically advanced companies act differently and try to open offices near universities.

The office address inexorably determines the company's development for decades to come. Placing near the university (and away from competitors) forces the company to develop its internal innovation potential and rely on its own strength.
