The developers of the Winlock Trojan continue to invent new distribution schemes for their offspring. It seems that the developers of this software will earn money for a very long time, in spite of the ongoing struggle with the Trojan. So far, the Trojan has won, not least thanks to the ingenuity of its creators. So, now, according to the experts of Doctor Web, a new way of spreading the infection blocking Windows OS has been invented - comments in LiveJournal. Clicking on the comment, the user gets to the photo hosting site, and from there it is already redirected to another resource, with a strawberry, where instead of girls the user receives the Trojan as an exe file.
It is clear that the main target audience of Winlock, spreading through LiveJournal, is Russian-speaking users, the majority of whom are here. This is one of the first attempts by hackers to start distributing the Winlock Trojan through social networks, since malicious software has so far spread through various entertainment resources, such as websites with the same strawberry or fake file sharing sites.

An example of the comment described above .
Of course, the attack on virus writers continues, the schemes previously used by hackers for withdrawing funds overlap, members of the hacker group are found, but it still lives and thrives. New ways of spreading the Trojan, new financial schemes are being invented, which are tested immediately. Probably, the scheme of distribution of the Trojan through LiveJournal will not last long, but before the dissemination of information about this, many user PCs will have time to become infected.
It makes no sense to write about the Trojan itself, since this topic has been discussed on Habré more than once and not twice, with a demonstration of various ways to bypass the lock. In general, LJ users should be careful not to click on any pretty pictures in the comments. As always, the most vulnerable category of users are users whose curiosity overcomes caution. Well, and for this you have to pay, and in the literal sense of the word.
