The administrator of the UA zone, “Hostmaster,” closes public access to information on domain owners.
Since January 31, the protection of personal information is introduced for owners of Ukrainian domains. Now it is impossible to find out the name, surname, address and e-mail of the domain owner using the whois query.
The fact is that since January 1, 2011, a new Law of Ukraine “On Personal Data Protection” entered into force in Ukraine. In pursuance of this law, Hostmaster LLC closes public access to information on individuals contained in nic-handle records. On whois requests and other unauthorized requests to domains containing data of individuals, the following information is now issued:
When accessing each of the e-mail addresses presented in this way, mail will be redirected to the hidden real address specified in the nic-handle. For new nic-handle entries, as well as when changing the e-mail field in an already existing nic-handle, the address will be updated within one hour.
Changes in the format of public presentation of information are associated with the prohibition of the Act of transferring to third parties the personal data of individuals without their consent. In accordance with the requirements of the Law, the form for responding to a request to the WHOIS service will not contain personal data of individuals. ')
The changes do not relate to the contact details of legal entities whose records use the organization field.
