Android has become the best-selling smartphone OS.

According to analytical company Canalys, in the fourth quarter of 2010, among smartphones, Android devices were sold the most, so the system outperformed the previous market leader Symbian for the first time. According to the company, 33.3 million android phones and 31 million symbianphones were sold for the quarter. In the third quarter, Android-smartphones sold 20.3 million, that is, growth for the quarter exceeded 50% (however, it was partially caused by Christmas sales).
