Manchester Airport has introduced “holograms” of real customer service personnel to help speed up the security queue. They greet passengers at the entrance to the inspection area and explain the restrictions on the transfer of liquids on the plane.
Despite the fact that the information boards indicate all safety restrictions, passengers still regularly forget to remove liquids from their bags.
“We don’t want someone to throw away a drink or a makeup product, so we tried many different ways to propagate the rules for transporting liquids, from posters to people dressed as giant deodorants,” writes “real” Julie Keper on the airport’s website . ')
Images of Manchester airport employees John Walsh and Julie Kaper were created using the same technology that animates the characters of the popular group Gorillaz . One set of phrases is recorded on holograms, and any message can be recorded.
“Perhaps holograms are a solution?” Added Julia. “If our holograms help our passengers go through pre-flight security procedures faster, then this will be a good thing.”
Virtual assistants take up their duties from Monday.
