South Korea continues to delight advances in wireless data. The other day, the State Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI) conducted an exemplary test of LTE-Advanced wireless data transmission technology. Testing was quite successful, with a peak data transfer rate of 600 Mbps. This is about six times higher than conventional LTE bandwidth.
All this indicative action, by the way, was held not in a cozy office, but in a special minibus that moved during the work of the team of testers. But the movement did not prevent the test participants, moreover - the 700 MB video file was downloaded in just 9.3 seconds. In addition, the team of testers was also able to watch a TV program broadcast in the network in 3D.

Despite the success of LTE-Advanced, the developers claim that certification of a new wireless data transmission protocol is possible no earlier than in 2014. The developers also promise that the first devices with LTE-Advanced support will appear in about three years - it is clear that prior to the certification of the technology and its final approval, the devices will not be on sale.

Reporting the results of testing LTE-Advanced, the development team joked that LTE-Advanced is as much better than 3G as 3G is better than a gradually disappearing dialup. It is worth recalling that the bandwidth of 3G - a maximum of 14.4 Mbit / s.
In the photo we see three testing participants, but it is clear that many more specialists are involved in the development of LTE-Advanced. In fact, 470 scientists are taking part in the project, and the work has been going on for about two years (a total of five years were allotted for the project). As for the money, the project cost is 57 million dollars. In the development, in addition to scientists from the above-mentioned Institute, teams of researchers from Samsung and LG take part.
I wonder when domestic companies will delight us with their own achievements? It seems like there is money, and experts, but something is not heard about the research and achievements, as in the same South Korea. Let's hope for the best?
