Earned Community SSU

As recently reported , the maemo community began working on its own repository to distribute system updates over the air. Community SSU (CSSU) was created by users for users, in far-reaching plans it is planned to bring updates to all N900 users, but for now this article will be of interest to us, geeks, as well as developers, testers and compilers of documentation and everyone who is not afraid to reflash their device in which case.
  1. First, make sure that you have firmware PR1.3 (the version in “about the product” must begin with the number “20.2010.36”).
  2. Open the wiki.maemo.org/Community_SSU link in the integrated browser (the QR code below will help you)

  3. Click on the “Install” arrow above “Testing”
  4. The application manager (MP) will launch and offer to install CSSU. Agree with everything he wants and install the package.
  5. When the installation is complete, close the MP and run Community SSU from the list of programs. This will run several scripts to set up the repositories.
  6. After that, the MP will be restarted (it will be a long time for this to happen, do not be afraid) and install the system update under the name “Maemo 5 Community SSU”. After that, the N900 will reboot.

Updates with respect to PR1.3 can be viewed here: wiki.maemo.org/Community_SSU/Changelog
