Twitter added social functionality

It seems that the management of the Twitter service decided to socialize it, that is, to make it look more like a social network. In principle, and so it is clear that Twitter is a social resource, but before that the emphasis was still on subscribers and subscriptions, and not on mutual friends and social connections in general. The new interface element added to Twitter now allows you to see how many total subscriptions and followers you have with another user. In order to see the changes, it is enough to open the page of another tweeter user, and a new panel will be immediately visible in the right part.

Here you can see both subscriptions shared with another Twitter user and mutual followers. Interestingly, the total number of general followers and subscriptions, the developers decided not to specify. But you can count on your own by clicking on the “more” button - full information will appear.

Interestingly, Twitter has previously often experimented with new features that helped make Twitter more like a social network. But all the tested changes quickly appeared and quickly disappeared, and this, the last change will clearly remain for a long time. According to the developers, the new functionality will help find more interesting people who may have much in common with you. Almost every social network has such functions, including Facebook, where the recommendation of users to each other has long been part of the service’s functionality.

Perhaps Twitter is going to change a bit, becoming even more social, if it can be said so, but in this case it will be a regular social network, of which there are many. But Twitter and became popular because it is a unique project, similar to which was not. Now, of course, there are hundreds of clones, and I would like to hope that Twitter will remain a distinctive service =)
