Americans bought 15% of Kaspersky Lab shares

Currently, most of the shares of Kaspersky Labs were owned by the company's general director, Yevgeny Kaspersky (50%), then Natalya Kasperskaya (30%), and four co-owners, who together owned about 20% of the shares. The other day a deal was concluded, under the terms of which a large American fund General Atlantic acquired a 15% stake in Kaspersky Lab. Experts say that the amount of the transaction ranged from 150 to 225 million dollars.

The management of Kaspersky Lab confirmed the fact of the transaction, without naming the seller of the shares, however. But, as they say, “informed sources” report that Natalya Kasperskaya, who has 15% of the company's shares, was the seller of the shares.

It is worth noting that Natalya Kasperskaya, who is the chairman of the board of directors of LC, hopes for the help of a foreign investor who can really offer something other than money - for example, the possibility of launching Kaspersky Lab to an IPO. The exact date of this event is still unknown, but the same Natalya Kasperskaya hopes for the release of LC to the IPO in the next five years.

By the way, General Atlantic is the largest US investment fund that operates not only in the USA, but also in Europe, India and Asia. This company has already invested in such well-known companies as Navigon, Alibaba Group and others. Now GA has 17 billion dollars.
