Digital Development Lab Digity Group

Our studio specializes in various digital technologies, in the development process of which we sometimes come to interesting solutions. We would like to share some of these technologies with the Habroux community. I hope that some of this will be useful for you or push you to new interesting ideas or suggestions for your customers!

1. Virtual QR-camera for code recognition

The technology of QR codes, of course, is not new. This is a kind of transfer of two-dimensional barcode technology to the Web. Barcodes were invented in the United States in the late 1940s by two students: Norman Woodland and Bernard Silver, as a means of automated information processing about goods. Based on Morse code, Woodland developed a similar system that could be applied to product labeling.

QR codes were first introduced by the Japanese company “Denso-Wave” back in 1994. However, in Russia it gained popularity only recently. For example, many print publications publish “quick QR links” to electronic versions of materials.

Most QR readers require installation of additional software on the computer. With our virtual camera, you do not need software, a smartphone or a specialized device. All you need now is a webcam, any computer and website! In this QR code, both the website address and any text up to 151 characters long inclusive can be encoded. With the help of the embed code you can integrate the QR code reader into your website. Use on health!

2. Remote control of a virtual object using a marker

Augmented reality in its various manifestations has also existed for quite some time. One of the most famous examples is the color line showing the trajectory of the puck movement during the broadcast of hockey matches.

Now many companies are doing promotions and whole games based on the markers that control the virtual object. If you have not seen how it works - we have created a small demo , for which you only need a computer, a webcam and a printer!

We welcome any comments on existing developments, as well as proposals for the development of other digital services and solutions to replenish the digital laboratory !

PS Do not try to double-click on the ears of the New Year's hare :)
