Joomla stays under the GPL

The developers of one of the most popular CMS in the world openly stated that the new version will remain under the GPL license . Currently undergoing beta testing of Joomla 1.5 which punishes the same success as the previous versions and which may become a real web2.0 breakthrough. Therefore, the community was worried if the developers would not want to release it under commercial.

“We decided to leave the license, thanks to which Joomla! has become so popular. The decision was made unanimously by the development team and the Open Source Matters community, which confirms the release of Joomla! 1.5 under the GPL license
