Nokia refuses Ovi Music Unlimited in most markets.

Nokia will close its Ovi Music Unlimited service (also known as Comes With Music) in 27 countries due to lack of interest, according to Reuters. The service will continue to operate only in some markets, including Brazil, China, India, Indonesia, Turkey and South Africa.

The service included in the price of the phone provided users with the ability to download music for free and unlimited. It was supported by Vivendi's Universal Music, EMI, Warner Music Group and Sony. However, the music was protected by DRM and tied to the device, which did not suit many users. According to the representative of Nokia, "the markets clearly want DRM-free music service."

Ovi Music Unlimited users will still have access to their old tracks after closing the service, but they will no longer be able to download new tracks. Nokia will continue to operate its music store in 38 countries, in which users will be able to purchase music tracks unprotected by DRM.
