We connect the Soviet guitar to the computer

image Hello dear habrovchane. Not so long ago, my house was replenished with one wonderful guitar, the game on which justifiably calms and relaxes after a stormy day at sea. To my surprise, the guitar turned out to be Soviet, and its name was Stella. Naturally my hands itched and once I wanted to connect it to a computer. Since I do not have a guitar processor, a mixing console, or a specialized preamp, I decided to use what I have. And I have a soldering iron, a small sketch of an action plan in my head, an old tape recorder and hands, which I bring every day to perfect “straightness”. Who cares, welcome under cat.

To begin with, I take the tape recorder Nota MP 220 Stereo, there is nothing else, any other of this series is possible.

The connector coming out of the guitar is disassembled, unsoldered and connected to the connector of the tape recorder heads, the heads themselves are turned off.

In this case, the guitar pickups are connected and coordinated with the preamplifiers of the Note 220. Linear output of the Note must be connected to the computer (linear input connector ~ 200 mV).

The tape recorder is put into playback mode, the main motor is switched off as unnecessary. Based on the above, the primary reproduction amplifiers (channel A and B) turn out to be pre-amplifiers for an electric guitar.

In practice, it is possible to connect an electric guitar through the microphone input jack and transfer the tape recorder to the recording mode, and receive an amplified signal from the line output or the output of headphones.
